Loss percentage formula
Loss = Cost price − Selling price
Loss % = Loss ÷ Cost price × 100
Bought for ₹1,500, sold for ₹1,200: loss is ₹300, so loss % = 300 ÷ 1,500 × 100 = 20%.
Selling price after a loss
Selling price = Cost price × (1 − Loss % ÷ 100)
