About dry volume measures
Grain, fruit and other dry goods were traditionally sold by volume in pecks and bushels. US dry measures are based on the Winchester bushel of 2,150.42 cubic inches (35.239 L). One bushel = 4 pecks = 32 dry quarts = 64 dry pints. US dry quarts and pints are about 16% larger than the liquid ones. The UK imperial bushel is 36.369 L.
Commodity markets often quote grain in bushels but settle by weight: a bushel of wheat is taken as 60 lb (27.2 kg) and a bushel of maize (corn) as 56 lb (25.4 kg). Use the weight converter for those.
