How it works
Each line is compared with the lines above it. The first time a line appears it is kept, and later copies are removed, so your original order is preserved unless you choose to sort.
- Ignore case: “Mumbai” and “MUMBAI” count as the same.
- Trim spaces: lines that differ only by leading or trailing spaces count as the same.
- Show duplicates only: lists only the values that appear more than once, with their counts. Useful for finding repeated invoice numbers, roll numbers or email addresses.
Frequently asked questions
Can I remove duplicates from an Excel column?
Yes. Copy the column, paste it here, then copy the result back into Excel. Each cell becomes one line.
Does it keep the first or last copy?
The first copy is kept by default. Choose “Keep last” to keep the last copy instead.
